Master Michael began his martial arts journey in 1988 at the age of 7 under Grandmaster Lee Kun Hwa in Athens, Greece before continuing his training under two Master instructors: Master Kostas Chamilothoris and Master Christos Gavrilis. He was awarded his 3rd Dan from the International Tang Soo Do Federation in 2001.
During this time Master Michael became a member of the Greek National Tang Soo Do team competing in National and International competitions winning Gold, Silver and Bronze medals in both sparring and Forms.
After moving to London Master Michael pursued a career in acting using his martial arts on screen in Film and TV working with Hollywood action stars including Scott Adkins and Joey Ansah.
Master Michael’s passion for the martial arts, health and fitness led him to create MPOWER Martial Arts in 2019.
In October 2020 Master Michael was awarded his 4th Dan by Grandmaster Kumar and the EMTF Shim Sa Kwan Nim and became a Tang Soo Do Master.
Following a long absence from the tournament circuit Master Michael competed at the British National Championships in March 2023 winning Gold in the Masters Forms division.
